Cavani Sued for "FAULT" by the FA Cavani in Turmoil. The English Federation opened an investigation into Edinson Cavani after United's victory over Southampton on November 29. Once the match was over, the Uruguayan posted on social networks a message that could be considered discriminatory: “Gracias negrito”, (Thank you Little Black) in response to one of his followers. In a statement, the FA delivered its verdict: “It is alleged that contrary to FA rule E3.1 An offensive and/or violent and/or improper and/or discredited game was a comment posted in the Instagram Manchester United FC player. Moreover, the statement is an "aggravated violation" specified in rule E3.2 of the FA, as it included a reference, express or implied, to color and/or race and/or Ethnicity.” If no sanctions have yet been announced, Cavani has until January 4 to respond, but Manchester United has already communicated on the subject: “We are committed to fighting racism and will continue to collaborate with the FA and Manchester United (...) Edinson and the club made it clear that there was absolutely no malicious intent behind this post, which he deleted and for which he apologized, as soon as he been informed that it may have been misinterpreted.” A storm in a glass of water?
